Bangkok’s cat cafe「Mohu Mohu Cafe」

Today, I’d like to introduce you to one of the good cat cafes of Bangkok.

In Bangkok small animal cafes are increasing in popularity. The options include cat, rabbit and dog cafes. These venues have become popular rest a relaxation spots.
This time I’d like to share information on the cat cafe that’s been on my mind for some time.

*In English, “Mohu Mohu” means fluffy. “Mohu Mohu” is a kind of onomatopoeia which indicates something fluffy and soft in Japanese.

In this cat cafe, you can see literally “Mohu Mohu” cats.

What’s Mohu Mohu Cafe like ?

Mohu Mohu cafe is located near MRT Lat Phrao Station. The exterior of this cat cafe is a house and the inside of the house is arranged to accommodate the cat cafe.

There are two zones with table seating and a mezzanine floor in the Mohu Mohu cafe. You can relax and feel “Mohu Mohu” with the cats.

In Mohu Mohu cafe, there are several prohibitions like hugging the cats, flash photography and so on. You can check the prohibitions on the board at the entrance.

The cats are well loved by the affectionate owner

Thoughtful consideration by the owner towards the cats is one of the reasons why I wanted to visit this cafe. Most of the cats in this cafe are rescued from various places such as temples (which are crwoded with small animals needing adoption even though the monks try their best), abandoned apartments , private gardens and of course the streets.
The kind owner of this establishment wrote the following article on the rescue cats in his cafe, I urge you to read it and hope you enjoy it. After reading this article I felt strong consideration for him appreciating his kind spirit.
The owner is from Japan. I really admire him because I think it must be very tough to manage a cafe full of cats all the while adapting to life in another country.

How to access the cafe is well summed up in this page. Just 5 minutes by walk from MRT Lat Phrao Station.
